P.E. Lockers
Which P.E. locker is yours?
After completing and returning a Locker Contract, each student will be issued a locker. Every school year our locker combinations are changed so that every incoming student has a new combination. It is extremely important that each student keeps his or her locker combination confidential so that all belongings are totally secure at all times.
Lockers are not to be shared with any other student. The use of our locker rooms is a privilege, and not a right. Any serious or repeated infraction of the P.E. department rules may result in a student losing his/her locker room privileges.
The locker room is always kept locked when students are outside. However, students need to be reminded to keep their valuable possessions in their lockers.
A separate Contract for the Fitness Room must be completed by each student. Infractions of the Fitness Room rules will result in loss of Fitness Room privileges.
Body Strays, Aerosols, Scented Lotions, and Glass Bottles
We know that students might like to "freshen up" after P.E. class, but these types of products aren't allowed in the locker room or in Palms classrooms because of their effects on the health of other students.
Sprays and aerosols put mist in the air, making it hard for students with asthma to breathe.
Lotions with scents can cause allergic reactions, including migraine headaches, in students with certain types of allergies.
Glass bottles can break, leaving glass shards that will cut students who are walking with bare feet.
These are health and safety concerns, and that's the reason for these rules. Refer to your School Planner under Health Conditions and PE. See also the Health and Safety page.
Be sure to read the Physical Education Department letter in your Registration Packet.
