Spirit Series

The Palms Modern Media and Communications Magnet partners with Spirit Series to allow students to perform scripts connected to their 6th grade Ancient Civilizations curriculum or 7th grade English curriculum.

Past Performances

Spring 2024: Eighth grade students of Mr. Flores performed "Courage."

Fall 2023: Sixth grade students of Ms. Apenyo performed "Buddha Walks" in December.

Spring 2023: Seventh grade students of Mr. Flores prepared their own performances.

Fall 2022: Sixth grade students of Ms. Apenyo and Mr. Diaz participated for three weeks, culminating in an on-stage performance.

About Spirit Series

Spirit Series is a drama-based school program for grades four through eight. The program uses theatre as a method to teach character and deliver meaning.

Students in the program study, co-write, stage, and perform one-act historical biographies. Over a dozen middle schools in Southern California are participating in the Spirit Series program.
