East West Players

Renowned theater company East West Players runs an after-school drama club at Palms in the Spring semester.
Students learn to do improv, monologues, skits, and much more. The final play will be performed at their beautiful theater in Little Tokyo.
The club is open to all Palms students.
Spring 2026
In June 2026, Palms East West Players Angel Aleman, Sheryl Hernandez, Arva Parikh, Anthony Rivera, and Adelaide Wallis performed at the East West Player's showcase at their theatre in Little Tokyo.
The performance was titled "What's Your Story?" The students also performed in an original skit, called "Adam Sandler and the Alligator," based on the Japanese folktale, Momotaro.
The Palms partnership with East West Players will reach 15 years this Fall.

Spring 2026: East West Players After-School Drama Classes
East West Players after-school drama classes begin on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 3:15pm to 4:30pm in the Auditorium. Students do not need to sign up. Just be there by 3:15pm on May 6.
Palms will continue our collaboration with East West Players Theatre Company with free after-school drama classes with sponsor Ms. Stansbury with guest instructors Mr. Danny Bernardo and Ms. Pauline Yasuda.
Classes will be on May 6, May 13, May 20, May 27, and June 3. There will be a showcase show for invited family and friends.

Club Meetings
We meet on Wednesdays in the Auditorium from 3:15pm to 4:30pm, starting in the Spring semester.
Magnet students can take the late bus if they have an approved application.
Spring 2022: The Monologue Show
"The Monologue Show" took place on May 11, 2022.
The show's theme was "What is something that you really wanted badly in life and what was your experience acquiring this?"
Winter 2019: Happy Fam-Li-Days Showcase Performance
The student showcase was held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at East West Players in Little Tokyo/DTLA. East West Players is located at 120 Judge John Aiso Street.
Palms students performed their self-written monologues about winter family celebrations, some joyful, some filled with bittersweet memories, and some comical.
Spring 2019: Familylogues Showcase Performance
The student showcase was held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at East West Players in Little Tokyo/DTLA. East West Players is located at 120 Judge John Aiso Street.
Palms students performed monologues they wrote in honor of a particular family member with all their mannerisms and quirks.

Spring 2018 Performance
Palms actors performed their show, Conversations With Ourselves, a collaboration between East West Players and Palms Middle School. The performance was held in the East West Players' theater in Little Tokyo on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
