Great California Shakeout: October 15

Every year, the students and staff at Palms Middle School practice earthquake preparedness on the day of the Great California Shakeout.

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, they pretended there had been a natural disaster, with students evacuating to the P.E. field. They also practiced search and rescue simulations.

If your child must be picked up after a real emergency, someone authorized on your child's Emergency Information Card must request your child from the Request Gate on the south side of Palms Blvd. near Kelton Avenue, show identification, and then wait for your child to be brought to you at the Reunion Gate, further east along the south side of Palms Blvd. See the map on the Health and Safety page.
