Math Club

In the Palms Math Club, we build our problem-solving skills through math competitions!

The club is recommended for students who like puzzles, challenges, and want to be involved in an academic club.

All Palms students are welcome.

Club Meetings

We meet on Tuesdays at lunch in Room 144.

To join, sign up during Club Rush and come to the meetings.

Competitions

We participate in math competitions on a national level. The puzzles test your critical thinking and problem solving skills. The math competitions are hosted once a month for five months, with five questions per competition, after school for thirty minutes.

The questions do not require algebra or geometry, just critical thinking and problem solving skills. Calculators are usually not needed.

Math Field Day 2026

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Palms Math Club competed in the LAUSD Region West Math Field Day. See the photos below.

The Palms 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade teams all won First Place!

They will be representing LAUSD at the Los Angeles County Office of Education Math Field Day on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
