Four Schools in One
Four schools share the Palms campus and its facilities:
- The Palms Community School. For students in the Palms attendance area, Palms is their community (neighborhood) school. The Community School includes the Palms School for Advanced Studies (SAS).
- The Palms Modern Media and Communications Magnet
- The Palms Gifted/High Ability Magnet
- The Palms Spanish World Language Immersion School
The academic and social environment at Palms, the experienced and dedicated faculty and staff, the high test scores, the enrichment opportunities and events for parents and families, and active support organizations and the Friends of Palms booster club combine to make Palms the best middle school in Los Angeles.

Community School
Palms Middle School is a vital part of the Palms area community. Ours is a residential community, with easy access to the campus on foot or via Palms Blvd. by driving, bus, or metro. See our location, our walking routes, public transportation information, and drop-off lane information.
Honors Program
Students are selected for the Honors program based on academic grades and standardized test scores. The Honors program is academically equivalent to the Gifted/High Ability Magnet Program.
The difference is administrative. Honors classes are within the community school or the Spanish World Language Immersion Program, with the corresponding budget, while the Magnet schools having separate budgets. Academic Magnet and non-Magnet classes have the same curriculum but are taught separately. All students mix for electives and for physical education.
